An experienced community artist and project manager.  Heather Fiona Martin is a generator of innovative projects and able to facilitate others’ ideas.  She is flexible and adaptable with strong interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, a positive approach and respect for others.  Sound planning and organisational capabilities with high personal standards and attention to detail.

The outcomes from her education and community projects are very different from her personal practice.  This is because she very much believes her role is to guide/facilitate the participants creative process rather than using her own.

Specialising in wet felt making and print making without a press, Heather also works in a range of other media and scales including mural painting, zoetrope workshops, recycled card, calabash bowl painting (calabash bowls are made from gourds used by indigenous caribbean and African communities.) and Drawing/collage – paper dolls.

In schools she very much enjoys creating projects and workshops that are based on process and/or themed to compliment the school curriculum.  Away from an educational setting, projects are designed to inspire the participants as well as meeting all design and budget criteria set by funders, planners and project committees.
